Q:How exactly did ww end up in the human world? As in of Themyscira?
Her mother, Queen Hippolyta, raised Princess Diana of the Amazons on Paradise Island.
Although the exact sequence of events is still unverified, Diana chose to leave her people and travel to the world of men with USAF Pilot Steve Trevor, who had crash-landed on Paradise Island. Diana returned to the United States with Trevor and took the name Wonder Woman.
It was during this period that she was introduced to, and joined, the Justice League. More recently, Wonder Woman learned some unsettling news about her birthright. Previously believing that she was a gift from the gods and made real from clay, Diana uncovered the truth that she is actually the offspring of her mother and Zeus. For Diana, this creates confusion about her true nature and raises the uncomfortable truth that if she is Zeus’ daughter…who are her siblings?
Further complicating things is Wonder Woman’s relationship with Superman, which has become romantic in nature. Are mere mortals right to fear the effects of such a powerful union?
Q:I never really read the comic books or anything but for some reason i'm super excited for man of steel but i was wondering, do you think it's going to be a serious movie or is superman kind of a funny guy? Also are superman and ww dating in the comics now?
Man of Steel has the same Writer - David Goyer - as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises, so we can expect a film that takes the subject matter seriously.
For fans the main question seem0s to be how will Superman act, will he be a reluctant hero - or an enthusiastic one?
I’m sure there will be some funny moments - as there was in the Batman movies.
Superman and Wonder Woman are dating in the comics now, the relationship is still in the very early stages, and we’ve so far just seen the one date, which was interrupted by a tidal wave.
It’s important to note the comics timeline is five years after Superman made his first public appearance in Metropolis. In this time both Diana and Clark have had - to some extent - relationships with their classic love interests, and have - at least for now - moved on and embraced each other.
While the first part of the Man of Steel movie will be concentrate on Clark’s childhood to adulthood journey ie to the point in time when he becomes ‘Superman’, and it seems the movie is about his first major Public act of heroism.
It’s worth while noting that the comics and movie fictional universes are distinct, Man of Steel is for all intents and purposes effectively set five years before the current status quo in the comics, because it is an origin story.

Geez, could you stop with the HENRY/GINA stuff, WW appearing in Man of Steel was already debunked by DC. Lois Lane is the only love interest in the movie. Gina was included once in a WW poll and that’s it, they’re just two people dating, and honestly, she’s a very bad actress, she could never be cast as anything in such an important franchise. This ‘rumors’ were just started by fans, more specifically THIS blog with yout wishful thinking, stop spreading this false news.[EDIT] : Isn’t it funny Gentle Followers how people take time out to slam us all - again - here for having a bit of fun with our favourite Comic Book Characters?
Sometimes that fun spills into the almost real life world that is Tinsel Town, and here it has with Henry & GIna.
Gina Carano is an upcoming actress ( Filmography ). This isn’t her first career, before that she was an athlete and a fought as a mixed martial artist and a kick boxer ( record ). She was nominated for best Action Actress in the Critics Choice Awards ( not the Raspberries ) for her role in Haywire.
[ “and honestly, she’s a very bad actress”] & honestly - would Steven Soderbergh ( Out of Sight, Erin Brockovich and Traffic, ) have cast a really bad actor alongside the likes of Ewan McGregor, and Michael Douglas? Would a very bad actress be nominated for an award for acting? ]
- Will Gina get to play Wonder Woman?
We certainly didn’t start this rumour, back in January 2012 - long before Superman and Wonder Woman became DC Comics Ultimate Power Couple and before Henry & Gina, Carano was asked
(comicbookmovie.com) People have suggested you play Wonder Woman?
(Gina) “I know! We even had a Wonder Woman reference in the film [Haywire] — did you catch it?One of the cops said something to me like, “Oh, chill out, Wonder Woman.”
And I thought that was so funny.
I said to Steven, “You know there’s a little rumor about me and Wonder Woman.” And he said mischievously, “Oh, that’s interesting.”
We told you about Gina and Henry hooking up when they appeared together in a Super-Car at Windsor Castle
[ The rumour about Gina having a Cameo in Man of Steel was on the net after this. First seen by us here - “Superman Man of Steel Henry Cavill seen with Wonder Woman Gina Carano“
Subsequently this rumour was picked up by sites like Bleeding Cool. Since Henry & Gina’s appearance at the Critic Choice Awards most sources covering this have also reported on the possibility that Carano might have been cast as Wonder Woman to appear in a Cameo in the Man of Steel film. ]So what about our headline image up top - well that’s pulled from perezhilton.com, with the signature ‘shopped-graffiti the site uses - the article says this…
Now this is a match made
in heavenon Krytpon!Henry Cavill was dashing last night at the Critics’ Choice Awards. While he didn’t leave with any critics’ trophies, the Man of Steel stud left with something way more valuable — his hawt new girlfriend!
Not that we’re implying professional ass-kicker Gina Carano is some sort of trophy!
She’s a talented actress who earned a nomination herself for Haywire, and she’s also one of the deadliest MMA fighters around!!
Besides, we would NEVER cross anyone who makes a living off of crushing windpipes with their tremendously powerful thighs!!
She and Henry are a magnificent match! If there’s one beautiful babe Superman could safely bang without wearing a kryptonite condom, we’re putting our money on her, LOLZ!
She’s so pretty! So powerful! So raven-haired and bosomy! So… not at all like Lois Lane!?
Hold on… Will Gina Carano make a cameo as Wonder Woman in Man of Steel?!
OMG!! Our mind! Consider it BLOWN!
So sure the cameo rumour is just that - a fun rumour, but we’re not the only gentlefolk who see Diana in the Amazonian figure that is Gina Carano.

lol you ridiculous blog, why are you posting and reblogging so many pictures of Henry and Gina?she’s NOT gonna play WW she’s not wonder woman you know, she’s just an random (and bad) actress who happens to be DATING HENRY CAVILL. You’re so freaking annoying.

Q:Is it true that Superman # 16 comes out on the 30th?

http://www.dccomics.com/comics/superman-2011/superman-16
• The “H’EL ON EARTH” crossover event takes a shocking turn!
• Guest-starring THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!
• The Man of Steel leads Wonder Woman, Batman, Cyborg, the Flash and Superboy on the final assault on the Fortress of Solitude!
• Can Superman stop H’El when Supergirl is standing in the way?
Q:Don't change. At least not yet.
Thanks :D

Q:Will you ever be getting a new theme?
Maybe?
The old DC Presents theme harks back to the past, after all this blog existed before Flashpoint and the New 52.
We’re not a reaction to the New Status Quo that is DC Comic’s Ultimate Power Couple Diana and Clark, rather this Tumblr was created in anticipation of what might just maybe happen.
As fans of this True Romance story for our favourite heroes we like to look back at the great moments from previous DC Universes as well as the New 52.
So fans of Hell Yeah Superman and Wonder Woman, should the theme change?
What do you think?
Q:I follow this blog but haven't the time to tumblr. I must congratulate you all. You started before our OTP became canon and then facing a hostile environment when they did. But you kept growing, a testament to the power of the pairing really .You're keeping it fun but have relevant insights. The real world can be a messed up place at times but blogs like this is a respite from it by celebrating comics, creators, heroes and a couple who inspires us to find the best in each other.
Thank you!
Q:Thank you for this blog. I'm ecstatic about the sm/ww romance. Clois have cluttered print,tv and big screen, Lana and Superman fans even had theirs in comics and 8 seasons of Smallville. Steve Trevor had his in comics and tv. Hell even Batman got Wonder Woman chasing him in JL/U. Many of us loved this couple and supported it for decades via comics. It's great to have something apart from elseworld and DC acknowledging the patient Kal/Diana fandom. My dream now would be to see them in tv/movies.
It’s a great time to be a Superman and Wonder Woman fan. Diana and Kal have their moment as a couple in the sun, and we’re just pleased to see that however long it lasts.
Much of that is down to you and me, and the over 1500 followers of this blog, to go out there and buy the comics and or the merchandise.
You don’t have to follow the books to be a fan of the idea of DC’s Ultimate Power Couple!
While we’d love to see their relationship portrayed on the silver screen, for now we can just Squee at the new Superman - Henry Cavill and oft tipped to play Diana Gina Carano having a fairy tale day out in a supercar at Windsor Castle.

Q:I don't get the issue SM can't be mentioned in WW's books. If she cares about him, then yes he should be. He does not have to overshadow her at all and how is having him absent making her more relevant? Says to me the writer can't write a real relationship of equals & he has to keep WW isolated to make her relevant. Why even have her in shared verse? They bringing in Orion to 'guest star' for a whole year and he has SM's power set without the weakness. So couldn't we say he will detract from WW?
No one is saying Superman can’t be mentioned in Wonder Woman.
The opposite is the case, but that doesn’t translate into there must be a ‘guest’ appearance of Superman in Wonder Woman.
It would be nice, and we’d love to see it.
But I’m not even sure if the current Wonder Woman Story meshes chronologically with the ‘now’ of the New 52 - it feels out of place much like Action.
The bottom line is Azzarello is telling his story. I accept the criticism that it’s isolated from the main New 52 universe, but I’m prepared to cut Azzarello some slack here as the book’s sales are good.
Orion’s guest appearance brings New Genesis into the New 52 - we could argue that having the New Gods reappearing in Wonder Woman is a direct link back to the Superman Family of books, as Kirby introduced the New Gods in Jimmy Olsen. Although Editorial is probably doing this because old gods - New Gods have similar themes in their comic book mythology.
That said, you’re very right that if written well Superman and Wonder Woman in each others books should not impact either’s standing.
Q:While I love SM/WW, I wouldn't want to see SM in the WW books. I support the writer's choice of not including SM in the WW, because when people would pick up WW's book they would say things like, "Oh look it's SM's gf." and that's not the impression I would want others to know. The thing I like about SM/WW is that their EQUALS, not that SM can save WW like a damsel in distress. Do you guys agre with my opinion or do you figure the writer should be able to make SM look less than larger than life?
That’s a very good point.
Wonder Woman is a character very much in two worlds, she could equally participate in Justice League Dark, - the magical themed title for example.
I feel most Superman Wonder Woman fans of DC’s Ultimate Power Couple would be happy with an easter-egg type shout out in Action and Wonder Woman. Something as simple as eg. a picture of Superman in Diana’s London Pad.
When the news first broke Jim Lee favourited a tweet from our twitter account - we were saying, and I paraphrase, that he and Geoff Johns would give us what you describe - a relationship of equals.
The great thing is it’s entirely reasonable to imagine Wonder Woman saving Superman - the distressed damsel - Man of Tomorrow.

One of the many reasons this romance represents story possibilities over 9000 is that there is no need to down play either Diana or Kal’s incredible power set to make a human character, even one as extraordinary as the Batman, for example, relevant.
Which brings me to the last part of your question.
One of the criticisms of the Iron Age nice but dim Superman was that he seemed to forget to use his power-set on a regular basis.
Take this example when Iron Age Superman first meets Iron Age Batman, whom he considers to be an outlaw vigilante who uses dubious methods.
What actually happens is Batman has a bomb hidden in his Utility belt. But nice but dim Superman doesn’t x-ray vision him completely before even engaging in conversation? He isn’t listening to his heart beat, watching his pupils and micro expressions in his face? He doesn’t work out using deductive reasoning that the innocent in danger is Batman himself.
IE to make Batman appear really smart they’ve made Superman less larger than life.
Golden Age Superman would have whipped the belt of Bat’s before he could twitch, and send it into the air to explode harmlessly above the city, then he’d have smashed the bat-mobile into pavement, just because - ( for some reason Siegel’s Superman was *really* into that )
So the writer’s job IMHO is to show Superman as a larger the life figure, who is at the same time very human. As Grant Morrison observes.
“American writers often say they find it difficult to write Superman. They say he’s too powerful; you can’t give him problems. But Superman is a metaphor. For me, Superman has the same problems we do, but on a Paul Bunyan scale. If Superman walks the dog, he walks it around the asteroid belt because it can fly in space. When Superman’s relatives visit, they come from the 31st century and bring some hellish monster conqueror from the future. But it’s still a story about your relatives visiting.”
Q:I'm loving the sm/ww relationship as seen in Justice League. I would buy the WW and SM books your blog suggested we buy if I knew they were going to appear as a couple there but from what I read the WW writer has no plans and the SM writers so far keep droning about Lois. How can DC expect us and detractors alike to take the relationship seriously? Surely they should be at least mentioned/appear in each other's books? I will buy JL but really not seeing any reason to buy the other books so far.
It’s great that you’re buying Justice League, we know that Superman #16 features Wonder Woman.

While Wonder Woman writer Brian Azzarello has indicated he has no plans to feature Superman in his book, that situation may change once he has completed the current storyline.
Action Comics writer Andy Diggle is writing the Young Romance Valentines special

So there is good reason to hope Action Comics will also feature Wonder Woman at some point.
You can count on us to shout any mentions and draw your attention to any appearances of DC’s Ultimate Power Couple across the DCU.
This will give you the chance and the choice to pick up those issues if you wish.
If you’re liking Diana and Kal you can always tell @DCComics on Twitter, and or the DCComics sites various comments, and Facebook pages.
Q:As SM/WW shippers, how does it feel that the new Superman movie will most likely have somewhat of a heavy focus on Clark and Lois?
What matters is that the new movie has a strong coherent story. The Daily Planet is an important part of Superman’s Mythology - it would be very surprising if the movie didn’t address Lois and Superman’s relationship.
Personally even as Diana and Kal ‘shipper at this point ie a movie dealing with Superman’s origin - his journey to being a hero, it’s how this is handled that is more of a concern to me, as Superman is first and foremost an enthusiastic hero, and not a reluctant one, that is he steps up to the plate to do the right thing, not the easy thing.
Also using Zod again - despite the protestations that this film is unrelated to the Donner Franchise - concerned me. Zod was until Donner a b list villain, who was plucked from relative obscurity and given a headline role as the villain for the second Donner Superman Film. However judging from the trailer there are clear and important differences. Can Zod even fly for example? Superman clearly can given his lifetime on Earth. It could be Superman’s natural advantages are outweighed by Zod’s access to advanced technology.
These sort of questions are more important I feel to the overall success of the film as a story, than which version of the Lois and Clark dynamic plays out, for example Donner went with the Classic doomed relationship where at the end of second Movie Lois realises she can’t be Superman - as long as he is Superman. Smallville told another different dynamic.
As a comics fan, and fan of story telling in general, I can say hand on heart is that there isn’t just one version of Superman’s story.
Whatever happens in the new movie-verse doesn’t make anyone’s ship more or less valid as a story, and everyone’s mileage may vary when it comes to which version they prefer.
As Superman and Wonder Woman shippers for the longest time our OTP wasn’t canon, it took Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross to promote the idea from elseworld to semi-canon multiverse story on Earth 22.
Right now out OTP has made it to the Comic book Canon proper, and it’s working out well for us in terms of sales and reception. It doesn’t follow that the comic-verse and movie-verse must be the same in every detail and outcome.
What’s really important is that this is a great Superman film, that proves to be a worthy box office smash.
Success that lays a solid foundation for a great Justice League movie. One where we can dream of some super wonderful Diana and Kal interactions. :) Of course!
( And maybe if we’re really lucky the rumour about a Wonder Woman cameo in Man of Steel might even be true! )
Q:Where can I buy these?
Guessing you mean the Ballers / Bracelets ?

If so see our previous post.
Q:Hi, I'm not reading Justice League (or any of the current Superman titles, though I'm thinking of changing that) but I've seen a lot of complaints that the Wonder Woman who appears in her own title and Batwoman doesn't feel like the one who appears in Justice League. Do you have an opinion on that? Also Brian Azzarello as said he has no intention of writing Clark crossing over into his story, how does that affect the ship for you? (I swear I'm not trolling, genuinely curious)
Personally (i) I found the Wonder Woman characterisation in Batwoman seemed to sit between the one in her own book and that of the Justice League.
There was the practical element of mixing technology from the Bat-verse, and Diana mythological and magical homeworld. On the other hand as a warrior she shows true grit as in her book, and also her internal dialogue reveals the self questioning that is reminiscent of the last Justice League.
Personally (ii) I’ve regarded Azzarello’s Wonder Woman to be comparable to Morrison’s Superman in Action, that is both books are showing us how the characters evolved into the versions we see in the Justice League now. For example we saw how Wonder Woman gained the Power of Flight in her book, an ability used notably in the Kiss Scenes with Superman!
Amongst our community’s discussions the most oft raised complaint is the Diana’s world feels disconnected from the DCU, that and when is Superman going to appear…
Personally (iii) I’m prepared to let Brian Azzarello finish telling his current story, because there are some compelling and worrying questions left unanswered. On balance I find Wonder Woman to the best book in the New 52. Also I still expect, like Morrison’s Action, that in due course it will feel increasingly connected.
For example we know Diana will take Clark somewhere important to her, will that be her London Pad, and live music scene? Or will it be Themyscira? And if Paradise Island, will her Mother and sisters be restored at this time.
Alongside the Justice League Trade, I certainly recommend Action and Wonder Woman, and picking up Superman from the #0 issue, and from the start of Lobdell’s run.
Lastly I’d suggest you take a look at the Comixcology analysis of the New 52 chronology, which shows just how connected the relaunch is - and surprisingly error free!
PS. Any one have another perspective they’d like to share?
